Frequently Asked Questions
How much carpet will I need?
We have a basic online calculator to give you an estimate, we can provide an accurate quote from your plans, and we offer a free measure & quote service.
Please note that the online calculator is an estimate only to give you a rough guide, please contact us if you need more help with this.
How long will it take to install my new carpet?
It does depend on the size of your home, but most jobs will take between 1 and 2 days.
Will the joins show?
Joins are usually most obvious immediately after installation but usually settle over time. Peaking joins are a natural occurrence and can be accentuated by certain light falls.
We believe it's important to always measure a job for the least amount of joins, so that you end up with the best possible finish. If you have any concerns, we can tell you exactly where the joins will be and discuss other options with you if necessary.
Do I have to shift my furniture?
Furniture does have to be moved, however, if you are unable to shift your furniture we can arrange for our installer to shift large items of furniture for a minimal cost.
Where is the carpet made?
The carpet is manufactured here in New Zealand.
What is the best fibre to buy?
This depends what you require from your carpet. Each fibre has its own characteristic and no "one" fibre has everything. There are many things to consider when deciding what fibre is best for your situation. These include if you have pets, kids, allergies, how heavy the foot traffic will be and how much direct sunlight the carpet will get. Talk to us and we can give you advice on what will be the best carpet for your own specific requirements.
I have dust and pollen allergies, is it better to have a carpet or hard floor coverings?
Carpet is better for allergy sufferers as it traps the dust. The dust on a hard surface lays on the top, and is kicked up into the breathing zone.
Generally we recommend nylon over wool for allergy sufferers.
Will I get a warranty?
Yes. You can read our warranty here
Will I get any mats left over after after installation?
There are usually off cuts which are left on site after installation for you to have bound for mats, or alternatively we can arrange binding for a minimal cost.
